<description>Here&#039;s a great idea for a special event...

 2,500th Anniversary Marathon in Greece
There is momentous celebration for the 2500th anniversary of the battle of Marathon in 490 BC and the legendary run by the Athenian messenger Pheidippides from the Marathon Battlefield to the city of Athens to bring the victorious news. The Athens Marathon 26.2 miles is run entirely on asphalt. The first twelve kilometers are level. The middle nineteen kilometers are gentle long hills. The final eleven kilometers are downhill. The finish line is in Athens&#039; magnificent Olympic Stadium.

When: Sunday, October 31st, 2010, 9:00 am
Where: Start of the race is at ancient battlefield in the town of Marathon, Greece The finishing line for all races is the Panathenaikon stadium
Price: Marathon - $110; 10km - $80; 5km - $70

Why not do it for free? AHEPA will pay for successful fundraisers and your tour package for a six day/five night trip to Athens. Fundraising goal is $5,100, in addition to the non refundable $200 deposit. AHEPA provides a fundraising kit that contains everything you&#039;ll need for Easy Fundraising. The sponsor’s donation is tax deductible.
